Dr. Eric Osansky is a chiropractor, clinical nutritionist, and a certified functional medicine practitioner who helps people recover from thyroid and autoimmune thyroid conditions. He is author of the books "Natural Treatment Solutions for Hyperthyroidism and Graves' Disease" and "Hashimoto's Triggers", and is the host of the "Save My Thyroid" podcast.
Dr. Osansky was personally diagnosed in 2008 with Graves’ disease, and after taking a natural treatment approach has been in remission since 2009. After seeing how well natural treatment methods helped with his condition, he began using these natural thyroid treatment protocols to help others with different types of thyroid and autoimmune thyroid conditions, including hyperthyroidism and Graves’ Disease, and hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis.
Michael has been in practice for some 30 years. Building one of the largest integrative medicine clinics in the southwest of England (he sold this in 2007), he embraced the concepts of functional medicine and employed them in his clinical development from 1991. Since 1992 he has researched the role of the mucosal immune system, especially in relation to the gastrointestinal tract and applied the emerging comprehension and emerging relationships between the bacterial constituents and the immune system to his clinical needs. This clinical experience and intellectual rigor produced impressive clinical outcomes and as such he has presented in the role of ‘wet tissues’ in human health in 5 continents to thousands of clinicians over the last decade.
Michael is an adjunct faculty member of the Institute for Functional Medicine and responsible for bring the Institute’s professional training programmes to the UK and Europe. Michael is an experienced presenter able to convert complex mechanisms into comprehensible sections of information that resonate with clinical experiences. Author of numerous book chapters, articles and reviews. He works in a small specialist practice exploring the use of food substrates in the treatment of mucosal immune related disorders.
